Holly G has been a favorite with neighborhood regulars, local celebrities and style critics. Since opening in 2006, fashion columns have raved about the chic and daring designers Holly G carries.

“I like to patronize Holly G … because she has some unique labels. She buys some Los Angeles designers that you wouldn't see somewhere else.”
Elena Russo, Italian actress and model, interview in The Baltimore Sun, April 2009

“Gwendolen Long opened her first Holly G in Federal Hill in April 2006. She had been living in Federal Hill for two years and realized there seemed to be an awful lot of girls with absolutely no stores to shop in. So, Holly G—so named for Holly Golighty in Truman Capote’s novella Breakfast at Tiffany’s—was born. The shop—which now includes a second location at the Wheel House at the Mt. Washington Mill—is stocked with little known designers that are “rare, if not nonexistent in Maryland.” And the new space carries a huge selection of handmade gemstone jewelry from The Gilded Peach’s Abigail Houff, a Federal Hill neighbor.” – Baltimore Magazine, December 2007

“Audrey Hepburn’s iconic character in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” was both charming and somewhat unexpected (two qualities Savvy simply adores). The same can be said for 27-year-old Gwendy Long’s chic new Federal Hill boutique, Holly G. Of course, there are jeans from Red Engine, Frankie B and Rosner (so great with their modern, not-too-low-in-the-front-higher-in-the-back-but-still-flattering-rise), but Savvy loves finds like the easy luxe cashmere pieces from Lily McNeal, the feminine dresses from Alice & Trixie and the well-cut tops from MarieMarie. Don’t miss: The sassy Brazilian lingerie from Belabumbum.” – Style, October 2006

“Federal Hill's fashion outpost is well-edited by owner Gwendy Long, who stocks her charming boutique with denim by Red Engine, Frankie B, and Rosner along with luxe cashmere pieces from Lily McNeal. You can also find flirty dresses by Alice & Trixie and well-cut tops by Marie Marie.” – Lucky Magazine Online

“Georgetown law student Gwen Long named her new Federal Hill shop after Holly Golightly, Truman Capote’s stay-up-late, live-it-up character, who felt happiest when she visited Tiffany’s. Gwen, a Southern California native, buys colorful party-ready clothing from Chicago, New York, and L.A. A fashion devotee since childhood, her goal is to bring unique designer clothing to Federal Hill, an area in need of more retail, in a variety of price ranges. She succeeds, with prices ranging from $20 tanks to $300 dresses. She carries A. Cheng – the pink lace top is adorable ($176) – PD favorite Frankie B., Uluru, Johnny Was, Marie, Marie, and Eva Franco – a gorgeous blue suede tunic sells for $180 – and jeans by Denim for Immortality, Red Engine and Rosher. Don’t overlook the dainty lingerie in the back of the store. The shop is cozy and chic, sporting a soft settee. “At Holly G, everyone can feel like they are at Tiffany’s, but can still afford to shop there,” Gwen says.”– Paper Doll
